About

In 2021, Raines was honored to win Vocalist of the Decade on Broadway World Santa Barbara. Raines is a music theater actress currently based on the central coast of California. Some of her favorite roles to play have been Miss Honey in Matilda, Smitty in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and the jump-roping fitness queen Brooke Wyndham in Legally Blonde. In 2013 she had the honor of performing as Amy Winehouse in the original musical The Dead Legend at the New York Music Theatre Festival.

Raines received her bachelor of music in classical voice from New York University. Locally, she has been seen on the stages of The Great American Melodrama, Opera Santa Barbara, and Opera San Luis Obispo.

A self-starter, Raines was a founding member of The Electric City Cabaret and The Dolce Divas. She also self-produced the Sarah Raines Concert Series which played to sold-out houses for a year.

When she’s not performing Raines enjoys creating performing arts education opportunities for youth. She is an integral part of nonprofit organizations such as Lompoc Youth Theater, SLO Symphony, and Youth ARTS Alive, and she has been a theater teacher and director with Los Berros Visual and Performing Arts Academy.
